About this site
La Secca Delle Formiche is a submerged reef site in the waters off Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands north of Sicily. The Aeolian archipelago sits in the Tyrrhenian Sea and is known for its volcanic seabed formations, with reefs and rock pinnacles rising from depth around the islands. Boats out of Lipari town serve as the usual access point for dive sites in this stretch of water.
