About this site
La Gabiniere is a rocky wall and reef site off the island of Port-Cros, part of the Port-Cros National Park in the Hyeres archipelago on the French Riviera. As one of the signature dives within France's oldest marine national park, it benefits from decades of protection, and divers have reported large groupers and schools of barracuda along its rocky slopes. The site is rated a beginner dive, with shallow rocky terrain that gives less experienced divers a chance to see fish life that is harder to find elsewhere on this coast. Gorgonian-covered ledges and drop-offs around the point add interest for those wanting a closer look at the structure beyond the open plateaus.
