La Pointe de la Croix sits within the waters of Port-Cros, part of the Iles d'Hyeres off the Var coast in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. Port-Cros has been a national park since the 1960s and its surrounding waters form a protected marine reserve, with dive sites reached by boat from Hyeres or the island's own harbor.
