About this site
La Palmita is a reef site off the coast of Pinar del Río, on the western end of Cuba, rather than off Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. It is a shallow, beginner-friendly dive reaching a maximum depth of around 11.3 metres over a reef bottom. Sea turtles are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported barracuda, lobster, nurse sharks, parrotfish, and snapper along the reef.
