About this site
Las Animas lies along the Baja California Sur coast on the Gulf of California side of the peninsula, in the stretch of water near La Paz, and is reached by boat from towns along the gulf shore. It is a reef dive with a maximum depth of around 16.8 metres, rated a beginner site. Divers have reported angelfish, grouper, snapper, and stingrays over the reef, along with sightings of manta rays, reef sharks, tiger sharks, sea turtles, and even dolphins.
