About this site
The eastern start of the Carnon rock plateau, about 2 km off La Grande-Motte: the plateau top is at 8 m and its north side drops in a steep, almost wall-like chaos of big blocks to gravel at 12 m. Large white gorgonians and fine fan worms on the plateau, red and black sea squirts, conger, scorpionfish and many sponges among the blocks; a small Posidonia meadow lies 40–50 m north. Level 1, boat access only, often turbid.
