About this site
Sandstone banks emerging from clean shelly sand and pebbles in 8 m, 4 km off Palavas: large rocks 2–3 m high surrounded by broken slabs up to 3 by 6 m, aligned roughly parallel to the coast. Under some slabs the hardened sand is hollowed into strangely smooth basins. The site is heterogeneous and easy to roam, with overhangs and cracks to prospect; boat access only, visibility excellent, current variable, suited to Level 1.
