About this site
Le Rubis is a French Navy minelayer submarine scuttled in 1958 off Cap Camarat near Ramatuelle on the Var coast of the French Riviera. It now lies at a maximum depth of around 34 metres, sitting upright on the sandy bottom, and remains a popular advanced dive out of the Saint-Tropez area. The hull is intact enough to make out its submarine shape clearly, encrusted with gorgonians and hosting congers and groupers along the superstructure. The site is rated advanced, reflecting both its depth and the conditions found on the wreck.
