About this site
Le Rubis is a wreck lying at 40 metres off Cape Camarat, between Cavalaire and Saint-Tropez on the French coast. It is a Sapphire series minesweeper, built in 1931 and in service with the French Navy until 1948.
Afterwards the vessel became an underwater base for the instruction of young sailors. It was deliberately scuttled with explosives on 31 January 1958 and now rests on the seabed as a dive for experienced divers.
