Le Trou Diable, or Devil's Hole, lies in the Caribbean Sea off Soufriere on Saint Lucia's western coast, an area known for its steep volcanic shoreline and the Pitons rising just inland. The site's name reflects the local French-derived Kweyol term for a hole or sink feature along this stretch of coast. Divers here have reported a mix of reef fish including banded butterflyfish, bicolor and yellowtail damselfish, brown chromis, queen parrotfish, puddingwife wrasse, Caribbean ocean surgeonfish, and Western Atlantic trumpetfish, along with Atlantic ghost crabs.
