About this site

Leon Dormido, known in English as Kicker Rock, is a split volcanic formation rising from the sea off the northwest coast of San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos. Divers pass through the narrow channel between the two rock walls, where the terrain drops into a steep wall reaching around 15 metres. The dive is rated advanced, with strong current reported at the site. Eagle rays and hammerhead sharks are regularly encountered along the wall, and divers have also reported mobula rays, octopus, and sea turtles here. The exposure to open ocean conditions and unpredictable current make it a site best suited to those with prior experience.
