Leru Cut

Leru Cut is a narrow fissure cut into the coastline of Pavuvu island in the Russell Islands group, Central Province, Solomon Islands. Divers enter through a crack in the limestone and swim into a canyon-like cavern where light filters down from a crack far overhead, with the passage opening back out to the reef. It is a well known feature among Solomon Islands liveaboard itineraries for the interplay of light and rock rather than for marine life volume, and the swim-through is generally shallow, making it accessible to divers comfortable with an overhead environment for short stretches. Visibility inside the cut can vary with the light shafts being the main draw. It is typically dived as part of a broader Russell Islands or Solomon Islands liveaboard route.
