About this site
Just off Achill Island in Ireland’s Atlantic waters, this site features dramatic underwater cliffs and boulders teeming with marine life. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich waters, attracting large schools of pollock, wrasse, and occasional basking sharks. The rocky terrain is covered in colorful sponges and anemones, with crevices hiding lobsters and crabs. Visibility varies but can be excellent on calm days. Suitable for experienced divers due to currents, it offers thrilling drift dives along the rugged coastline. The nearby lighthouse adds a scenic backdrop.
