About this site
Derawan Island sits off the northeast coast of Kalimantan in Indonesia, part of the Derawan Islands archipelago in the Celebes Sea, with Sangalaki lying nearby as one of the smaller islands in that same group. The Lighthouse site takes its name from a navigational lighthouse structure on or near the island, a common reference point for dive operators working the surrounding reef. It reaches a maximum depth of around 70 metres and is rated a technical dive.
