Linosa is one of the three Pelagie Islands, sitting in the Mediterranean between Sicily and the coast of Tunisia, though it is listed here alongside Lampedusa which lies farther south in the same island group. The island is volcanic in origin, with dark rock and small coastal coves that give access to the surrounding water.
