About this site
Lochaline is a village on the Morvern peninsula in the Scottish Highlands, sitting on the shore of the Sound of Mull. Its sea loch, Loch Aline, opens into the Sound, a stretch of water separating the mainland from the Isle of Mull that draws divers to the area for its many wrecks and shore access points. The village is also known for its silica sand mine, whose quarry workings run beneath the loch. Diving here is rated advanced.
