Rondo

The Rondo lies in the Sound of Mull off Argyll and Bute in western Scotland, a stretch of water well known for its wreck diving. It was a Norwegian cargo steamer that sank in the sound in 1935 after a collision, and the wreck now rests against the underwater cliffs of the shoreline, sloping steeply from shallow water down to a maximum depth of around 50 metres. This makes it a popular site for choosing a depth range to suit the dive, with the bow sitting much shallower than the stern end down the slope. Given its depth and the steep incline, it is rated a technical dive. Cold water and dark conditions at depth are typical of the sound, and marine growth such as soft corals and anemones is common on wrecks in this area.
