About this site
Long Reef sits within North Male Atoll in the Kaafu administrative region of the Maldives, a chain of coral atolls in the central Indian Ocean. Dive operators based on the resort islands and in Male itself run trips out to the atoll's reef systems, of which this is one. It reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported fusiliers, lionfish, mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, scorpionfish, and stonefish along the reef.
