About this site
Loro Town is a reef site within the San Andrés y Providencia archipelago, Colombia's Caribbean island department that sits closer to the Nicaraguan coast than to mainland Colombia. The surrounding waters fall within a designated biosphere reserve known for extensive coral formations. Providencia itself is a small volcanic island reached by boat or small plane from San Andrés town. The dive here reaches a maximum depth of around 12 metres and is rated a beginner site.
