M/v Mahi

The M/V Mahi is a former minesweeper turned research vessel that was sunk as an artificial reef off the west coast of Oahu, near Waianae. The wreck sits upright on a sandy bottom in roughly 21 to 27 metres of water, with its structure largely intact, making it accessible for penetration by divers with wreck experience. It has become a gathering point for larger marine life, including eagle rays, turtles, and occasional whitetip reef sharks, and its sheltered position tends to offer calmer conditions than open reef sites nearby. The vessel is around 50 metres long, and its intact superstructure combined with encrusting growth after decades underwater makes it a popular dive for both new and experienced wreck divers.
