Maamigili Beyru

Maamigili Beyru sits off Maamigili island in South Ari Atoll, on the outer reef edge facing the open channel between the atoll and the surrounding sea. This part of South Ari is well known as a whale shark area, and boats operating out of Maamigili often run dedicated snorkel and dive trips along this outer reef stretch. The site takes its name directly from the island it borders. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated intermediate. Whale sharks are a regular sighting along this reef, and divers have also reported whales passing through the area.
