Maldives Victory Wreck

The Maldives Victory is a cargo ship that sank in 1981 after striking a reef near Hulhule island, shortly after the Male airport region, in North Male Atoll. It sits upright on a sandy bottom close to the airport channel, with the deck starting at around 15 metres and the hull extending down to roughly 30 metres. The wreck is largely intact and penetrable in places, and divers commonly find it draped in soft corals with resident reef fish, batfish, and occasional larger pelagics passing through the current-swept water nearby. It is a popular dive from Male and Hulhumale, but the depth and current at the site make it better suited to divers with some wreck or advanced experience.
