Embudhoo Canyon

Embudhoo Canyon lies along the outer edge of South Male Atoll in the Kaafu region of the Maldives, near the Embudhoo channel that cuts through the atoll rim. Sites in this channel area are known for canyon-like swim-throughs and overhangs formed in the reef structure, with drift dives following the channel current between the atoll interior and open ocean. Depths typically range from around 15 to 30 metres, and the current running through the channel usually makes it a dive suited to those with some experience. Divers visiting this part of South Male often report reef fish activity along the canyon walls and overhangs, along with occasional pelagic sightings where the channel meets deeper water.
