Mama Viña

Mama Viña is a wreck dive off the coast of Playa del Carmen in Quintana Roo, Mexico, along the Caribbean coastline of the Yucatan Peninsula. The sunken vessel now sits as an artificial reef offshore, reached by boat from the town's dive operators, resting on a wreck bottom at a maximum depth of around 29.6 metres. Current runs medium and visibility is good, with the dive rated advanced. Bull sharks are a regular draw here, along with grouper, moray eels, and sea turtles, and divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, garden eels, lionfish, lobster, octopus, snapper, stingrays, Atlantic blue tang, Atlantic sergeant major, French grunt, and Caribbean land hermit crab around the site.
