About this site

Mamsa Point is a current-swept dive site on Apo Island in the Philippines. Mamsa is the local word for jackfish, which are plentiful here, and it is possible to see schools of hundreds playing in the strong current. Sometimes they form a protective circle against the larger tuna that hunt them.

The site is only suitable for experienced divers. At times the currents are so strong that diving is not permitted for anyone, though on a calmer day a small current can turn it into an easy drift dive. A starry moray eel, turtles, a nudibranch and a lionfish have also been seen here.
