About this site
Manchones I & II lies off the southern end of Isla Mujeres, near Cancun on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, in the waters of the Mexican Caribbean. This stretch of reef also holds the MUSA underwater sculpture museum, and dive boats from Isla Mujeres and Cancun run to the area regularly. The reef tops out at a shallow maximum depth of around 10 metres, making it an easy site to spend time over. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, butterflyfish, grouper, lionfish, lobster, moray eels, parrotfish, sea turtles, and snapper along the coral.
