About this site

Manta Point lies near Gili Trawangan, one of the small islands off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, along a channel where boats from Gili Trawangan and neighboring Gili Meno and Gili Air commonly run dive trips. It is a reef dive to around 15 metres, rated for beginners with generally light current and good visibility, though conditions on the surface and around the reef can turn choppy, with surge, swell, and stronger currents reported at times. As the name suggests, manta rays are a regular sighting here, along with mola mola, nurse and reef sharks, sea turtles, octopus, nudibranchs, and reef fish such as fusiliers, sweetlips, and wrasse. Divers have also reported eagle rays, stingrays, napoleon wrasse, snapper, trevally, unicornfish, and even wobbegong sharks and dolphins passing through.
