About this site
Marine Sanctuary is a protected reef dive site in the Moalboal area, accessible within 15 minutes by boat, and also exists as a named site around Balicasag Island, reachable by a 30–40 minute boat ride from Alona Beach. At Balicasag, the site runs from 5 to 25 metres depth and suits beginner to intermediate divers, featuring healthy, well-protected reef systems.
The reef holds a variety of marine life across its healthy coral structures, including turtles, reef sharks, leaf fish, soft corals, and large sea fans, making it a particularly rewarding site for underwater photographers.
