About this site
Marsa Sharm sits along the Red Sea coast within Qesm Marsa Alam, in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate, a stretch of coastline known for its fringing reefs and sheltered bays. The site is a reef dive to a maximum depth of around 25 metres, rated a beginner dive. Nudibranchs are common on the reef, and divers have also reported angelfish, crocodilefish, garden eels, glassfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, and even dugongs passing through. Dive operators based around Marsa Alam use these inshore marsas as access points to the offshore reef systems.
