About this site
Martini Rock lies along Sharjah's eastern coastline on the Gulf of Oman, in the Khor Fakkan area often used as a diving base for that stretch of coast. It takes its name from a rocky pinnacle formation offshore, typical of the granite outcrops found along this part of the emirate's coastline, and reaches a maximum depth of around 22 metres over a reef bottom, rated an intermediate dive. Whale sharks pass through the site, and divers have also reported batfish, fusiliers, leopard and zebra sharks, lionfish, long-spined crown-of-thorns starfish, nudibranchs, scorpionfish, and snapper around the rock.
