About this site
Shark Island lies off the coast of Sharjah on the United Arab Emirates' east coast, facing the Gulf of Oman, near Khor Fakkan in Sharjah's eastern exclave, where several dive operators run trips to the rocky outcrops scattered along the shore. The site is a reef reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported sharks around the site, along with barracuda, eagle rays, tuna, clownfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, and even whale sharks.
