About this site

Masaplod South lies along the Dauin coastline of Negros Oriental, on the southeastern side of Negros Island in the Visayas region of the Philippines. This stretch of coast is known for its black sand slopes running down from shore, dived from small bancas working out of the local barangays. The site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 22 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Pipefish and snapper are a regular sight here, and divers have also reported clownfish, cuttlefish, frogfish, nudibranchs, sea turtles, seahorses, and surgeonfish on the reef.
