Matinloc East lies off Matinloc Island, part of the Bacuit archipelago near El Nido on the northern tip of Palawan in Luzon's broader island region. The island itself is known for its steep limestone cliffs and the abandoned shrine on its western side, with dive and snorkel sites scattered along its coastline reached by boat from El Nido town.
