About this site
Matlang Island lies off Samui Island in Surat Thani province, part of the Samui archipelago in the Gulf of Thailand, with boats out to its reef typically running from the piers on Samui's coast. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 17 metres, and visibility tends to run poor. Manta rays are seen at the site, and divers have also reported leopard sharks around the reef.
