About this site
Haad Yao lies off the west coast of Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, on Thailand's Gulf coast, within reach of the boat traffic running between Koh Phangan and nearby Koh Tao, a well known diving hub in the same gulf. The reef here tops out at a shallow 7.5 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported clownfish, nudibranchs, pufferfish, and squid among the reef life.
