About this site
Mavericks lies along the coast near Maputo, in southern Mozambique, where the Indian Ocean meets the shoreline of this coastal region. Dive sites in this stretch of coast are typically reached by boat from operators based around the Maputo area. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 28 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have also reported mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, pipefish, and scorpionfish on the reef.
