Meedhu Faru Kandoo lies in Ari Atoll, one of the larger atolls in the central Maldives known for its channels, or kandus, that cut between reef flats and the open sea. Sites named with kandu or kandoo typically involve diving along a channel edge where currents move between the atoll lagoon and open water.
