Mel's Rock lies off Krk Island near Vrbnik, a hilltop town on the northeastern coast of the island facing the Kvarner Gulf in Croatia. The waters here sit within the Primorje-Gorski Kotar region, where the island's limestone coastline drops into the Adriatic Sea. Divers have reported golden anemone, leopard sea slug, leopard-spotted goby, Mediterranean rainbow wrasse, and yellow gorgonian on the rock.
