About this site
Menjangan Island sits off the northwest coast of Bali, within West Bali National Park, and is known for its wall diving and sloping reefs in relatively calm, sheltered water compared to much of the rest of the island. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres over a wall bottom, with light current and generally great visibility, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers commonly reach it by boat from the nearby coast of Bali, with the island itself uninhabited and part of the protected park. Grouper, manta rays, and sea turtles are regularly encountered here, and divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, batfish, clownfish, eagle rays, fusiliers, garden eels, mimic octopus, mola mola, Napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, octopus, parrotfish, reef sharks, scorpionfish, snapper, sweetlips, trevally, whale sharks, and wrasse along the wall.
