About this site
Kashima (鹿島) is a shore site at Minabe on the Kii Peninsula of Wakayama, with a maximum depth of 10 m. It stays relatively calm even when sea conditions are poor, which makes it a good training site. Marine life is plentiful, frogfish are common, and the site is well known as a spawning ground for bigfin reef squid.
