About this site
Monad Shoal lies off the coast of Malapascua Island in Cebu, Philippines, and is best known as a cleaning station for thresher sharks, which rise from deeper water in the early morning to be cleaned by wrasse at the cleaning stations along the shoal. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Dives here are typically timed for dawn to catch the sharks before they descend again, and the plateau itself is a shoal rather than a reef wall.
