Murex House Reef

Murex House Reef sits in front of the Murex dive resorts on the coast near Manado, in North Sulawesi, an area known for its muck diving grounds along the Lembeh Strait side and the reef diving of Bunaken to the north. Being a house reef, it is an easy shore entry site over a sand bottom, reaching a maximum depth of around 12 metres and rated a beginner dive. The site is thick with macro and reef life, including angelfish, batfish, clownfish, damselfish, frogfish, lionfish, nudibranchs, octopus, mantis shrimp, scorpionfish, and squid, alongside larger passersby such as barracuda, trevally, tuna, mackerel, and even eagle rays, with occasional whale sightings reported. Divers have also turned up flying gurnards, ghost pipefish, and pipefish while working the slopes here. Some divers have noted strong currents on occasion, though the shallow, controlled entry keeps it accessible for check dives and dedicated macro hunts alike.
