MV Bianca C

The MV Bianca C lies off the coast of Grenada near St. George's, in the southeastern Caribbean. Known as the Titanic of the Caribbean, this Italian cruise liner caught fire after an engine room explosion in 1961 and sank while being towed from the harbor, with no loss of life thanks to a rescue effort involving nearby ships and a visiting British naval vessel. The wreck is over 180 metres long, making it one of the largest diveable wrecks in the region, and it rests on a sloping sandy bottom in deep water, generally starting around 30 metres and dropping well past 50. Strong currents and the depth make it a dive reserved for experienced and advanced divers. Large pelagics, including barracuda and occasionally reef sharks, are commonly reported around the superstructure.
