About this site
Nishikawana Beach (西川名ビーチ) is a shore-entry site at Nishikawana in Tateyama on the Boso Peninsula, Chiba, a five-minute walk from the dive centre, with a maximum depth of 8 m. It is used for courses and introductory dives, with entry over rocks, so footing needs care. Suitable from beginner level. Kelp and other seaweed cover the bottom, sheltering nudibranchs, frogfish, pinecone fish and occasionally species normally found only from Okinawa southward.
