About this site
Makronisos is a narrow island off the southeastern tip of Attica, near Lavrio in the Lavreotiki municipality, separated from the mainland by a strait used by boats running along this stretch of coast. The waters around the island sit within the Aegean Sea, close to the mining town of Lavrio and its harbor.
