Northern Tube lies within Meemu Atoll, one of the less developed atolls in the central Maldives, reached mainly by liveaboard rather than resort day boats. The atoll sits between the more heavily dived Male atolls to the north and Thaa atoll to the south, with its reefs and channels facing both the inner lagoon and the open ocean.
