About this site
Nungwi Reef sits off the northern tip of Zanzibar Island, at the point where the village's dive operators launch boats out toward the surrounding reef and channel systems. It is a reef dive rated advanced, and divers have reported cuttlefish, frogfish, harlequin shrimp, octopus, and squid among the site's macro life. Nungwi itself is best known for its beaches and as a departure point for trips further out along the coast, with this reef offering a closer option for those staying in the area.
