NZ Moa

The NZ Moa is the wreck of HMNZS Moa, a Royal New Zealand Navy Bird-class minesweeper sunk by Japanese aircraft in 1943 while anchored near Tulagi in the Solomon Islands. The wreck sits upright in Tulagi Harbour in relatively shallow water, making it accessible to a wide range of divers, though depth and visibility can vary with the harbour's murkier conditions. Its hull and deck fittings are still recognisable, and it is often dived alongside other wrecks in the Tulagi and Florida Islands area from operators based in Central Province. The site draws divers interested in Pacific War history as much as reef life, since Tulagi Harbour was a significant naval anchorage during the Solomon Islands campaign.
