About this site
Palancar Point is part of the larger Palancar Reef system off the southwest coast of Cozumel, in the Quintana Roo state of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. This stretch of reef along the island's marine park is known for its coral formations, swim-throughs, and steep drop-offs, typically dived by boat from the town of San Miguel de Cozumel. Depths and current vary along the different sections of the reef, and the area is a common stop on multi-tank drift dive itineraries around the island.
