About this site
Paradise is a shallow site off Mabul Island, on Sabah's southeastern coast in Malaysian Borneo, close to Sipadan in the Celebes Sea. Mabul itself is a low-lying island ringed by sandy shallows and stilt house settlements, widely used as a base for dive operators working this stretch of coast. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 10 metres over a bottom mixed with wreckage, with light current, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers here have reported frogfish, ghost pipefish and ornate ghost pipefish, grouper, mandarinfish, and nudibranchs among the muck-diving finds.
