About this site
Pedra Do Jota lies off Porto Santo, the smaller island of the Madeira archipelago in the Atlantic, north of Madeira proper. The island's coast is known for its volcanic rock formations meeting sandy shallows, and dive sites here are typically reached by short boat trips from the harbour near Vila Baleira. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, frogfish, grouper, mackerel, manta rays, seahorses, and tuna around the rock.
